My experience with online scams

I have experienced multiple occasions in which someone has tried to steal my data, information, or even money through a digital scam. However, one of the most common ways I have seen this been done is through the usage of hacking Instagram accounts and using their DMs (Direct Messages). The way this method works is by using an Instagram account that has already been hacked into and messaging current followers and friends of that account. This can easily lure people in since they typically message accounts claiming they are in need of assistance. Although, it is vital that you never trust these messages because they will typically follow up with some sort of link allowing them to access all different kinds of your information. Some methods of ensuring this never happens to you are, not trusting random and unexpected messages, contacting that person separately asking if they were hacked, and especially not clicking any unknown links.
